Why You Should Come to TEDxBroadway This February
If you can make it, I strongly encourage you to get yourself down to New World Stages in New York City on February 22 for TEDxBroadway 2016!
If you do, you’ll be participating in a day that’s all about sharing interesting, provocative, possibly crazy, possibly brilliant ideas for the future of the Broadway ecosystem. True to the TED mission, TEDxBroadway is about “Ideas Worth Spreading.” We’ll have about 20 brilliant presenters on the stage and another 500 or so brilliant people in the audience, possibly including you.
TEDxBroadway is now in its fifth year and as always we have a wide range of speakers. Everyone from an Oscar-winning writer, to an “Autism Warrior Mom,” to a biochemical professor and more.
Since it’s a one-track event, everyone will have the same experience, and you’ll have tons to talk about with whoever you bump into. That includes Broadway power players, stakeholders in the Broadway ecosystem and newcomers to live entertainment. This is due in part to our Young Professionals program, which enabled the future stars of the industry to apply for a free ticket (thanks to some generous support from sponsors) and (also thanks to some sponsor help) funded some deeply discounted tickets to students.
But it’s not all about big ideas and serious business. It’s a lot of fun, too. We’ve got some cool and ridiculous surprises waiting for you and a cocktail hour afterward.
So come! If you can’t convince your boss that this is a professional development activity that they should pay for and give you the time off for, you should take the day off anyway. It could be the best investment of a personal day you’ve ever made.
