Think Outside the Industry: The Girl Scouts Go Hi-Tech
Need to update your website or go mobile? Maybe you should ask the Girl Scouts for a little help.
The organization recently announced that the scouts will be launching an online cookie selling platform and a mobile app to teach girls to set up their own webpages — and of course give the rest of us easier access to Thin Mints.
What can the live entertainment industry learn from this? Well, first of all, if the Girl Scouts can make the leap into the 21st century, there’s really no excuse for anyone else not to. It’s also a reminder that online and mobile sales aren’t going away, they’re only becoming more popular. As Jim has said:
“If you have an existing audience and you build a mobile product that works well, they will follow you.
If you have an existing audience and you don’t build a mobile product that works well, they might go somewhere else.”
