Kim Pensinger Witman understands that not everyone is born loving opera. And she’s doing her part to try and change that. As senior director of the Wolf Trap Opera and classical programming at Wolf Trap, she does everything from making casting and repertoire choices to … blogging. That’s right, the head of Wolf Trap Opera has been posting daily this summer, reports Anne Midgette in The Washington Post.

In Witman’s own words:

“One of the reasons that I have the blog is because I’m not an insider. I did not grow up with this. Had I not worked in this industry, I may not even have become a patron, because it felt so forbidding to me. So I came in through the back door, and now it’s my job to kind of open up the front door and let other people know.”
