National Disability Theatre Launches New Partnership
“Right now we’re at a time in our country where we really need hope, and we really need incredible artistry that can be used as evidence that our differences are our strengths,” says co-executive director of National Disability Theatre Mickey Rowe, who is autistic, in a statement to American Theatre.
We couldn’t agree more, which is why we’re excited to learn that National Disability Theatre is launching a commissioning partnership with La Jolla Playhouse and Goodman Theatre for two new works written, directed and designed by artists with disabilities. The casts of these two shows will also feature only actors with disabilities.
