Marching to the Tune of a Fake Wedding
Weddings can be very theatrical. They even make for a great show. Think Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.
In Argentina, fake weddings are a growing trend, reports The Atlantic‘s Katharine Schwab. According to her article, a #falsaboda is “a fake wedding where the bride, groom, and officiant are actors and the guests are there to party rather than celebrate a new marriage.”
Before guests attend a #falsaboda, they’re sent a video about the couple’s backstory, but the real drama begins when the partygoers, who are usually young and single, enter the theater.
