Get to Know TEDxBroadway 2015 Speaker … Kirsten Sabia, VP of Marketing for the PGA Tour

Sabia_Kirsten_09MAYBefore we once again ask, “What Is the Best Broadway Can Be?” on Monday, February 23, at New World Stages, we’re asking our TEDxBroadway 2015 speakers to tell us a little more about themselves.

Kirsten Sabia is Vice President of Marketing Services for the PGA TOUR, where she oversees marketing efforts for the TOUR’s owned and operated tournaments. Significant accomplishments at the TOUR include leading the organization’s charitable campaign, “Drive to a Billion,” in 2005; the rebrand of THE PLAYERS Championship; and the launch of the FedExCup and its Playoff series.

Where are you originally from?
Simsbury, Conn.

What was the first Broadway show you ever saw?
Phantom of the Opera

If you had a motto, what would it be?
Work hard. Play hard.

Do you have a special Broadway memory?
My first trip to NYC was at 19. Strange, as I had grown up just two-and-a-half hours away. I saw Phantom with my parents and three siblings. I was the oldest. My brother was the youngest at just 8. We ate at the Carnegie Deli.

What book are you reading now?
I just finished Lemongrass Hope by Amy Impellizzeri, a classmate of mine from Dickinson College. I read it in one sitting on a business trip to Korea.

Do you have a skill or talent that not many people know about?
I wish I could say singing or dancing, but alas, I can’t.
