International male quartet Il Divo (Italian for “Divine Performer”) pioneered the genre of operatic pop and has become a worldwide sensation, selling more than 26 million albums and setting a Guinness record for most successful classical crossover group in history. Created in 2003 by American Idol’s Simon Cowell, the U.K.-based group features vocalists from four different countries — Switzerland (Urs Buhler), Spain (Carlos Marin), France (Sébastien Izambard) and the U.S. (David Miller) — each with dashing good looks and designer suits.

Il_Divo_ticketsIl Divo will kick off their U.S. tour in Miami this September, performing songs from their newly released seventh studio album, Amor & Pasion, as well as some of their biggest hits. Debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart, Amor & Pasion is a sultry all-Spanish compilation with familiar favorites like Julio Iglesias’ “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” (“A Las Mujeres Que Yo Ame”), Gloria Estefan’s “Don’t Wanna Lose You” (“Si Voy A Perderte”) and more.

This is the third installment in the Coffee With Goldstar series, whose past guests include Star Trek’s George Takei (star of Broadway’s Allegiance) and actor-pianist-playwright Hershey Felder. The future will bring many more live chats with Broadway cast members, musicians, comedians, dancers and more.
