Brian Wilson Performs Pet Sounds One Last Time (Sort of)

Flavorwire recently reported that Brian Wilson will go on a 50-city tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his album Pet Sounds — and then never play the album again (allegedly).

While at first glance it might seem like a tour for a 50-year-old album wouldn’t be very successful, there are a couple trends happening right now that suggest otherwise.

Right around this time last year The Grateful Dead announced their farewell concert, which did extremely well. And as we reported yesterday, sales of old albums have outpaced new music for the first time ever. So it would seem that the conditions are perfect for Wilson to have a sold-out tour.
